It is a large campground with a lot of seasonal sites. Everyone was friendly; staff and seasonal people. It is probably a great campground for families but we just wanted a quiet place to overnight and relax. Sites are close together, level, but just gravel or dirt (sand). For the services we took advantage of, it was way overpriced, but then we are old fogies. It rained the day we left and the mosquitoes were horrendous. We will look for other campgrounds next time we are in the area.

Nice clean campground with choice of sites, wooded or open field. Many sites are large and afford relative privacy. Bathrooms were clean but unheated with individual private showers (free) accessible from the outside. There are many well kept seasonal sites and the staff and regulars were friendly. The access road is mostly paved but bumpy, so go very slow. Cable TV is free at all sites. We have camped here off and on for many years and expect to return.

Finally, the entrance road has been repaved and you no longer have to dodge potholes. There are nice wooded sites, well separated affording some privacy. Many sites have been improved by leveling with gravel. The bathroom/showers were generally clean but could use some updating. Camping with pets is limited to specific portion of the campground. This is a very scenic area and a great economical place to use as your base for exploring the many outdoor experiences. The park swimming pool is a couple of miles from the campground. The crystal clear Clarion River runs through the park and is great for tubing or canoeing. There is poor ATT cell service. I've been here many times and is one of my favorite camping areas.

This was our first time staying in a camping cabin (chose not to tow the TT from PA). We had a single room cabin with a double and bunk bed, a TV w/cable, AC, ceramic heater, small table, and 2 rocking chairs on the porch. We liked both the cabin and campground very much. The staff was friendly, the roads are paved, and all facilities very clean. There are many well maintained permanent trailers in this park but it appears the RV sites are tight and require some maneuvering for the larger rigs. The campground is conveniently located near the State Park which has a large beach area on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed our stay here while attending the Tulip Festival in Holland.

Campground is mostly on a hillside with narrow and very rough roads. The sites are very close together with most sites having long term permanent trailers, some with strange decor. Appears to be a place families come to escape the city and let the kids run, but it appeared to me they just traded one form of congestion for another. We stayed two nights since just visiting the area, but if returning to the area we would look for a different cg.

Steep gravel road to campsites. Showers not well designed for convenience and privacy (Definitely not KOA standards). Swimming facilities not on site but close by. Campground setting is attractive, large sites, and well maintained. There are many permanent setups indicating a lot of folks like the place. If I return to the area I probably would opt for another campground.

Closest campground to historic area - Sites are very close together. Only 2 shower stalls for the whole campground. It was 90 degrees and swimming pool was closed for repairs. There are train tracks on one side of the campground where the tent sites are located and a lot of trains go by. The trains did not seriously disturb me in my rv but I would not wanted to be in one of the tents 20 yards from the tracks.

Very well maintained campground. No swimming pool but you can buy a daily activity pass for $12 (good for 4 people) that permits you to use the swimming pool at the lodge plus bicycles, water bikes and paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks. Not an inexpensive place but a great vacation spot.

A good overnight place to stay. Inexpensive, but no frills, however, there is a large shopping area about 4 miles north. Bath/shower house was older but clean. Located on the hill above the coal mine exibition and museum (being renovated when I was there). Would stay there again if visting the Beckley area.
